What is TAP Student Leadership Symposium?
The TAP Student Leadership Symposium is sponsored by AT&T and presented by the Foundation for Educational Development, Inc.
TAP Student Leadership Symposium provides a forum for students to learn from industry-leading STEM professionals about careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. TAP Student Leaders participate in college preparation sessions focused on college applications, time-management, and communication skills.
The TAP Student Leadership Symposium is a six (6)-session program conducted on one (1) Saturday per month. The program runs from July and concludes in February at the BEYA STEM Conference.
Students will participate in sessions that will expose them to different careers in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields. Speakers from top government agencies, Fortune 500 companies and university admissions offices will detail the benefits and pathways to becoming a STEM professional. In addition, students will be a part of special sessions focused on college preparation, leadership skills and tips for leading a successful life.
Additionally, students will have opportunities to participate in Maryland area campus tours and meet with various admissions counselors.
