The 2013 Diversity Careers in Cybersecurity Symposium creates opportunities for networking and learning. We invite top executives to give presentations on topics ranging from leadership best practices to industry trends in technology. With 30,000 jobs in Cyber Security going unfilled in Maryland alone, the focus for 2013 is building the pipeline to fill the growing need.
3 Days of Cyber Security Presentations
The Alumni Association consider the escalating scale of cyber security warfare one of the most challenging threat to the nation. Even more threatening to national security is the small pipeline of STEM professionals who can meet government and industry workforce needs. These presentations address the issue of career awareness and building the pipeline.
Alumnus of the Year and Leadership Awards Luncheon
The work of the men and women who receive awards from Career Communications Group never ends. In fact the mission of our organization is often inseparable from those of many of the organizations that we serve. This awards lunch serves to underscore that the job is never complete and that focus from the entire STEM community is essential to building a sustainable STEM pipeline.

Each year we induct into our Hall of Fame, 10 to 15 of our past award winners who have
continued to contribute in the workplace and their communities. The

The ABET accredited HBCU engineering schools graduate nearly 32% of all Black engineers and computer scientists. They can't do this without support from industry and government. We honor the many organizations that support our Black colleges and the men and women behind the graduates.
What does the larger community know about cyber security? This expo is designed to showcase the field and its opportunities to the community. Organizations can participate with recruitment, awareness, or outreach as a goal. We'll provide an audience of high school students, college students and community organizations focused on advancing STEM careers.
Impact the Major Annual Conferences
you’ve attended either the BEYA STEM Conference or the Women of Color
STEM conference, you’ve probably had a few thoughts that might help
improve the conferences. The Alumni Association endorses this event as
the place where you can give your input and work with us as we plan the
upcoming meeting. We tackle all areas of the conference, from the
nomination process to seminars and workshops to registration.
