Become a 2024 Woc Speaker

Since 1996, Career Communications Group’s Women of Color Conference has had an immeasurable impact on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) in industry, government, and academic institutions that continue to promote significant achievement and opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) at the annual event hosted by CCG's Women of Color magazine.

CCG has leveraged the WOC STEM Digital Conference to reach women across America. Seminars, discussions, and training at the three-day event will be offered with interactive features to provide the information needed to compete in the COVID-19 economy. All sessions will be led by experts from organizations such as yours. Seminar sessions offer expert insights on leadership, professional development, and technical advancements. STEM training facilitates interaction in knowledge environments that promote networking, training and mentoring for students and professionals.

If you are interested in serving as a speaker, moderator, or panelist, please read this document then submit your application below. We cannot guarantee your placement on a seminar panel, however, we will carefully consider everyone who submits an application.

Speaker Roles

If you are selected to participate on a seminar panel, please make sure that you are able to attend the pre-conference planning meeting with your panel.

Presenter
We expect the presenter to develop course material for the presentation and, if needed, handout materials. The Presenter should think about creative ways to convey information, engage participants, and propose thought-provoking questions or challenges. Participants should leave with a toolbox of suggestions as well as an opportunity to make the content applicable in the real world. Presenters are encouraged to include handouts and suggested readings.
Panelist
The panelist will bring the content alive using real-world examples and experiences related to the subject matter. Panelists should be prepared to briefly share relevant career or life experiences with the participants.
Moderator
The moderator will organize and lead a pre-seminar meeting with the seminar panel members. This discussion should include some follow-up questions for the panel. The moderator sets the stage for the presentation by giving the audience a brief overview followed by an introduction of the panelists. During the presentation, the moderator fields questions to the panel members and from the audience. Finally, the moderator will address housekeeping items before and after the seminar presentation.
